In the timeless city of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family deal with love, forgetting, and the inevitability of their past and fate. This is Netflix’s most expensive project in Latin America to date, with Colombian indigenous groups and communities constructing the props and sets for the series. Mentioned on Radio Dolin: Results 2024. The best films of the year (2024). I just finished the first episode. It could have been really scary, but it wasn’t. It’s always hard to translate inner thoughts, fears, doubts, and inner reactions into things like visions! The dubbing is pretty good in English, but I switched to Spanish with English subtitles and felt more comfortable. I’m glad they take the time for the table, because it’s important to set the scene, and even so, it feels a bit rushed, but with sixteen episodes, I’ll live with it. I’ve read the book three times in my life and it’s okay. No expense was spared on locations and sets, which helps create the atmosphere. I’m looking forward to the questionable ethnic stuff! Please, no censorship!
